This is a house near the UT campus. The folks that live there felt like people needed something to smile about, so they painted polka dots on their lawn. Love it!

Dum dum da dum

So my lovely friend Sarah is getting married tomorrow. We just finished having her Bachelorette party here at mi casa. Lots of girls being..well..girly. This will be like the 5th wedding in 4 months that I've attended (well sort of). I got another invitation in the mail today for a wedding in April. :p Seems like everyone is getting married.

I say sort of attended because I seem to have developed a pattern of “slowpoking” around until I’ve missed the ceremony completely, arriving just in time for the reception. It isn’t deliberate. I start out with every intention of going to the actual wedding, yet this has happened for the last 3 weddings.

I’ve never loved going to weddings. They’re often pretty dull. But, lately I’ve been much more emotional about it. It’s selfishness really. It’s a joy, a thing of beauty to be celebrated. I should be sharing in the happiness of those whom I love (and I am joyful for my dear friends). I just never thought I would be 33 and still single. It's not what I wanted for my life. Yet my gracious Lord has ordained it.


Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
Fear the Lord, you His saints,
for those who fear Him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

May I delight myself in You my Lord, that the desires of my heart may be truly satisfied.

Opening credits

I'm not sure about this blogging obsession. Don't really understand what it's all about. But, it seems all the "cool kids" have them. I want to be like the "cool kids". I guess I"ll get a blog too. But, what do I have say? Does anyone want to read my babblings? Do I really want to write them? I have no philosophical questions to ponder, or crazy stories to share. The truth is, I have nothing I want to say, but I have a blog anyway. So, all you "cool kids", feel free to post what you have to say. It would make me feel really cool :)
